How we calculate
CGPA to German grade, explained
German universities use a 1.0 (best) to 4.0 (pass) scale. To convert Pakistani grades, most of them, and uni-assist, use the Modified Bavarian Formula:
Nmax = best possible grade (4.0 CGPA or 100%) · Nd = your grade · Nmin = minimum passing grade (we use 2.0 CGPA, or 50% for degrees and 33% for Intermediate).
| Your CGPA (out of 4.0) | ≈ German grade |
|---|---|
| 3.70 | 1.5 · sehr gut |
| 3.30 | 2.1 · gut |
| 3.00 | 2.5 · gut |
| 2.80 | 2.8 · befriedigend |
| 2.50 | 3.3 · befriedigend |
| 2.20 | 3.7 · ausreichend |

Analyzer FAQ
What CGPA is required to study in Germany from Pakistan?
There is no single national minimum. Competitive programmes at top universities often look for a German grade of 2.5 or better (around 3.0+ CGPA). Many universities of applied sciences and programmes without strict cutoffs consider applicants with lower grades, especially with relevant experience and a strong SOP.
Is my data saved or shared?
No. The analyzer runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored. Your report is only shared if you choose to send it to a counsellor on WhatsApp.
Is a 14-year bachelor's accepted for a master's in Germany?
Usually not. Most German master's programmes require a 16-year education. Completing a 2-year MA/MSc after your 14-year degree, or a BS top-up, is the common solution. A bachelor's in Germany is another option.
